What is a Forest Therapy Walk?

Simply put, a Forest Therapy Walk is a gentle walk in a natural space with the intention of

slowing down and building connections.

In a guided forest therapy walk, the Guide's role is to offer a series of invitations - to give you a little bit of direction, to suggest some ways that those connections can take place. The Guide's role is NOT to dictate your experience or set you up for a specific result.

According to the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs,

"the Forest is the Therapist, the Guide opens the doors."

Why Ruhe?

Ruhe (pronounced ROO-uh) means “tranquility” in the German language. I chose it for my business because for me it reflects back on my past (German ancestry on my mother’s side); looks forward to what I hope to help bring to individuals, relationships, and the community; and sits in the present when I give the forest my presence.
